The best AI agent apps that run on your Claude or ChatGPT plan, ranked
Ten AI agent apps that bill your Claude or ChatGPT plan instead of an API key, ranked on official route, plan coverage and openness. Plus picks by job.
By BringYourSubs7 min read
The best AI agent apps that run on a plan you already pay for are, in order, Conductor, Zed, T3 Code, Amp and Kilo Code, followed by OpenClaw, Hermes Agent, Devin, Happy and Warp. Each one sends its AI work to your Claude or ChatGPT subscription instead of a separate API key, through a route the model provider officially supports.
We ranked them on 5 October 2026 using the evidence below. Most "best AI agent" lists rank apps on features alone; this one only includes apps that can bill your own plan, because that is what decides the monthly cost of running an agent.
How did we rank these agent apps?
Four tests, in this order of weight:
- Official route. For ChatGPT plans, the app is on OpenAI's Sign in with ChatGPT partner list or drives the Codex you signed in to. For Claude plans, it drives the unmodified Claude Code you logged in to yourself, the only route Anthropic's legal page allows. Apps that ask for your Claude login directly are left out.
- Plan coverage. Apps that work with both Claude and ChatGPT plans rank higher, because you can switch models without switching tools.
- Openness. Open-source apps rank higher at equal footing: you can see what the agent does with your account.
- Cost on top. A free app that only uses your plan beats one that adds a subscription of its own.
We did not rank on benchmarks or on our own traffic. Each app links to its BringYourSubs listing, where we quote the maker's own page about plan support.
The top 10 AI agent apps on your own plan

| 3 | T3 Code | One control surface for Claude Code, Codex and Cursor on desktop and phone | Yes, via Claude Code | Yes, OpenAI open-source integration | Yes |
| 4 | Amp | Frontier coding agent for the CLI, editor and web | No | Yes, OpenAI partner | No |

Why each app made the list
1. Conductor. Conductor's site says it "runs the first-party Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and OpenCode agents under the hood", which puts the Claude side squarely on Anthropic's permitted route. It added Sign in with ChatGPT on 29 September and is on OpenAI's launch list. Each task gets its own workspace, branch, terminal and diff, so you can run several agents against one repo without them colliding.
2. Zed. Zed's subscription docs cover both plans: a ChatGPT Subscription provider for OpenAI models, and Claude Agent or the claude CLI in a terminal thread for Claude. Zed's own built-in agent has no Claude plan option, so pick the Claude Agent route if your plan is Claude.
3. T3 Code. An open-source app that drives the agents already logged in on your machine. OpenAI lists it among its open-source Sign in with ChatGPT integrations, and it works with the Cursor CLI too, so a Cursor plan is covered as well.
4. Amp. Amp's site says that once you link your ChatGPT subscription, "the low, medium, and high settings of the Dial run on it instead of Amp credits." It is ChatGPT only for plan usage.
5. Kilo Code. Kilo shipped Sign in with ChatGPT across "every Kilo coding surface" on 29 September. It is open source and works in VS Code and JetBrains, which makes it the closest thing on this list to an editor extension that runs on your ChatGPT plan.
6. OpenClaw. The most-starred open-source assistant we list. For ChatGPT, its onboarding signs in with Codex OAuth. For Claude, its Anthropic docs offer a "Claude CLI" route that reuses the Claude Code login on the same machine. Avoid community proxies that route a Claude login around Claude Code; Anthropic's terms prohibit them.
7. Hermes Agent. On OpenAI's partner list for ChatGPT plans. For Claude, Nous Research publishes an official plugin, marked experimental, that "drives the unmodified official Claude Code executable" (plugin page). It ranks below OpenClaw because the Claude route is still experimental.
8. Devin. Cognition added Sign in with ChatGPT on 29 September, so Devin's OpenAI model usage can come out of your plan. Devin also runs non-OpenAI models; only the OpenAI part bills your ChatGPT plan.
9. Happy. Not an agent of its own: a remote control for the Claude Code and Codex sessions on your computer, with iOS, Android and web apps. Because it runs your existing logins, the work counts against the plans you already have.
10. Warp. The agentic terminal, on OpenAI's partner list. Warp offers many models; plan usage applies to the OpenAI ones when you sign in with ChatGPT.
Which agent app should you pick for your job?

| Have an assistant in Telegram, Slack or WhatsApp | OpenClaw, Hermes Agent, NanoClaw, Zylos | ChatGPT, and Claude through Claude Code where noted on each listing | Always-on agents with memory |
| Run business agents for a team | Hyperagent, OtoDock, Kortix | Hyperagent and Kortix ChatGPT; OtoDock Claude Code and Codex | OtoDock is self-hosted |
| Build a web app | v0 by Vercel | ChatGPT | Choose Use ChatGPT plan in v0's credit menu |
| Build a native mobile app | Dactyl | ChatGPT | On OpenAI's partner list; publishing needs Dactyl's paid Builder plan |
| Design with agents | Claude Design, Brilliant, Open CoDesign | Claude Design is included in Claude plans; Open CoDesign ChatGPT | Brilliant connects Claude Code, Codex and Cursor over MCP |
| Work in docs and notes | Notion, Muesli | ChatGPT | Notion needs a Business or Enterprise workspace |

Do these apps cost anything on top of your plan?
The model usage comes out of your plan's limits. OpenAI's page is explicit: "App usage counts toward your existing plan limits. Connecting an app does not add a new allowance, and the app may have its own fees." You can cap each app's weekly share in ChatGPT under Settings, Usage, and disconnect it under Settings, Security and login.
On the Claude side, Anthropic's Agent SDK help page says third-party app usage "still draw[s] from your subscription's usage limits", after a planned change to a separate credit was paused on 15 June. Whether a plan beats paying per token depends on how much you run; the numbers are in Claude subscription vs API cost.
App fees we know of: Notion requires a Business or Enterprise workspace for plan usage, and Dactyl charges for its Builder plan to publish apps. Check each listing's pricing line before you commit.
Which apps are not on this list, and why?
- Cursor. Its own model picker bills your Cursor plan. You can run Claude Code inside Cursor on a Claude plan, but Cursor itself is not on OpenAI's Sign in with ChatGPT list. Apps that run on a Cursor plan are on works with Cursor.
- OpenCode on a Claude plan. OpenCode is a strong open-source agent and runs on ChatGPT Plus and Pro, but it removed Claude sign-in at Anthropic's request. See our Claude app-by-app answers.
- Apps that ask for your Claude login or token directly. Anthropic's terms say third-party developers may not offer Claude.ai login or "route requests through Free, Pro, or Max plan credentials on behalf of their users." We only recommend the Claude Code route.
Where to see every app
We list every app that runs on your plan, with the maker's own wording, on apps that use your Claude subscription and apps that use your ChatGPT plan. If you care most about reading the code, start with open-source agents you can run on your own subscription. For the one-time setup that every Claude Code or Codex-based app relies on, see how to run other apps on your Claude or ChatGPT plan.
