Can you use your Claude subscription in Hermes Agent?
Yes, experimentally. Nous Research's "Claude Subscription DirectSDK (Experimental)" plugin "drives the unmodified official Claude Code executable" for your Claude Pro or Max subscription. Hermes keeps its own agent loop and tools; the plugin never reads or copies your Claude credentials, because the login belongs to Claude Code. The plugin page calls it "a review build, not a full-parity or production-readiness claim."

Was Claude ever unsupported in Hermes Agent?
Yes. Until the plugin, Hermes users on Reddit reported no supported way to use a Claude plan. The plugin, listed in Hermes's official plugin catalogue, is the first route that runs Anthropic's own Claude Code.
