About Ghost
Ghost lives in your menu bar and opens with Option-Space. Type a question, attach a file, dictate a note or start a focus timer, and Ghost routes it to the right model, searches your indexed documents, remembers what matters about you, creates real files and runs verified Mac actions. It works with local models through LM Studio and Ollama, hosted models on your own keys, and your own Claude Code, Codex or Antigravity subscription, which can run chat and its coding agent at no extra cost. Ghost is a native SwiftUI app sold as a one-time licence.
Can you use your ChatGPT plan in Ghost?
Yes. Your ChatGPT plan, through Codex, for chat and the coding agent. Ghost's own page says: "You can also point Ghost at your existing Claude Code or Codex subscription and run chat through it at no extra cost."
How to connect your plan
Claude Pro or Max
- Install Ghost on an Apple Silicon Mac (macOS 14+) with Claude Code signed in.
- Open the model menu under the notch composer and pick the Claude Code subscription; chat and the coding agent run on it.
ChatGPT Plus or Pro
- Install Ghost on an Apple Silicon Mac (macOS 14+) with Codex signed in.
