Can I use my Gemini subscription in other apps?

No. Since 18 June 2026 Google AI Pro and Ultra no longer work in Gemini CLI or tools like OpenCode. What your plan still covers, and what to use instead.

No, not today. Google AI Pro and Ultra cover Google's own products, such as the Gemini app, Antigravity and Jules, but no third-party app can run on them. Since 18 June 2026 the plans no longer work even in Google's own Gemini CLI, and Google says using that login in tools like OpenCode, OpenClaw or Claude Code can get your account suspended. To use Gemini in other apps you need a pay-per-use API key.

What happened on 18 June 2026

Google's deprecation notice says: "Starting June 18, 2026, Gemini Code Assist IDE extensions stopped serving requests for the Gemini Code Assist for individuals, Google AI Pro, and Google AI Ultra tiers. This also applies to usage of Gemini CLI." The "Login with Google" option for those tiers was removed, and Google points users to its Antigravity products instead.

Before that date, community plugins let tools such as OpenCode borrow Gemini CLI's Google login. Google's Gemini CLI FAQ is direct about them: "Using third-party software, tools, or services to harvest or piggyback on Gemini CLI's OAuth authentication to access our backend services is a direct violation of our applicable terms and policies," and it "may be grounds for immediate suspension or termination of your account." The supported way to use Gemini in a third-party coding agent, the FAQ says, is "a Vertex AI or Google AI Studio API key."

Gemini Code Assist Standard and Enterprise subscriptions, which are bought through Google Cloud, are not affected.

What your Google AI Pro or Ultra plan still covers

  • The Gemini app, with higher limits than the free tier.
  • Antigravity, Google's agent IDE and CLI. Its plans page gives Pro "a high, generous quota, refreshed every five hours until the weekly limit is reached" and Ultra "the highest, most generous quota". Antigravity does not support bringing your own key.
  • Jules, Google's coding agent, with higher task limits on Pro and Ultra (Jules plans).
  • The other Google AI products on the Google One plan page.

Questions people ask

Can I use my Google AI Pro subscription in OpenCode, Claude Code or OpenClaw?
No. Gemini CLI's FAQ says using third-party software to piggyback on its OAuth login is a direct violation of Google's terms that may get your account suspended, and Google stopped serving Google AI Pro and Ultra requests through Gemini CLI on 18 June 2026. Use a Gemini API key from Google AI Studio or Vertex AI instead, which is billed per use.
Does Google AI Pro still work with Gemini CLI?
No. Since 18 June 2026 Gemini CLI and the Gemini Code Assist IDE extensions no longer serve the Google AI Pro, Google AI Ultra or free individual tiers. Google points those users to Antigravity, which includes a CLI. Gemini Code Assist Standard and Enterprise subscriptions are not affected.
Which apps does my Google AI Pro or Ultra plan cover?
Google's own: the Gemini app, Antigravity (desktop and CLI) with higher limits, Jules with higher task limits, plus other Google AI products listed on the Google One plan page.
Can I use my Gemini subscription in VS Code?
Not through the Gemini Code Assist extension on a Pro or Ultra plan since 18 June 2026. Google's coding route for those plans is Antigravity.
Is there an app directory for Gemini subscriptions like there is for Claude and ChatGPT?
There is nothing to list yet. As of 3 October 2026 Google has no program that lets third-party apps use a Google AI Pro or Ultra plan. BringYourSubs will add a Gemini page if Google launches one.
