Short Pipe
A local-first desktop app that turns a long video into captioned vertical shorts, with an agent that runs on your own Codex subscription.

About Short Pipe
Short Pipe turns a long-form video into captioned vertical shorts on your Mac. Point it at a file and it transcribes locally, an agent proposes soundbites, you review and edit them, and it renders 1080x1920 captioned clips with FFmpeg and HyperFrames. An on-device tools checklist shows what is installed and how to fix what is missing. The agent runs on your own Codex subscription, so there is no inference cost and nothing leaves your computer except the Codex calls.
Can you use your ChatGPT plan in Short Pipe?
Yes. Your ChatGPT plan, through Codex, for picking soundbites. Short Pipe's own page says: "The agent runs on your own Codex subscription, so there is no inference cost and nothing leaves your computer except the Codex API calls."
